Kretek

Kretek is a type of cigarette with cloves in it, I'm not usually an advocate for smoking. There is a painting that I adore at my grandparents' house of a man lighting his cigarette and I found this photograph bearing a great likeness to it so I tried painting it.

I wonder what kind of stories this man has behind the lines across his face.
